Canada celebrated Thanksgiving last month, but the lone survivor of a Pacific Coastal Airlines crash of a plane chartered by Kiewit from Vancouver to Toba Inlet no doubt has plenty to be grateful for.

Seven died in the crash, the second this year of a Grumman Goose, an amphibious plane that is part of Pacific Coastal's fleet. The airline resumed float plane operations out of Victoria on Nov. 19, 2008.
