Closet Canuck's Great Big Canadian Train Adventure DAY FIVE: Montreal to historic Quebec City

Biosphere, Buckminster Fuller's dome in Montreal, is a museum dedicated to water and the environment, originally part of Expo '67.

Breakfast in First Class on Via Rail Canada's morning trains.

A paper mill outside Quebec City, which was founded by the French explorer Champlain in the early 17th century. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only fortified colonial city in North America.

Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac rises above the St. Lawrence River.

The St. Lawrence River runs through Quebec and Ontario, forming part of the boundary between Canada and the US (New York).

Simons is the oldest department store in Canada, opening in 1870.

Ice skating at Place d'Youville is popular during autumn and winter.

Le Chateau Frontenac is colorfully lit at night for the holidays.

Lovely photo of the Chateau Frontenac lit up.

What kind of camera are you using?

I use a Canon PowerShot S5IS ... it's my second Canon. Great camera, lightweight and don't use any big fancy lenses. Perfect for my job!

I sometimes use a Canon PowerShot SD850 and am continually astounded by the clarity and light capture.

Happy travels!
