Joni Mitchell's 'River' a classic Christmas tune
River is one of my favorite Christmas tunes. No, it's not Silent Night or Joy to the World, but it's thoughtful and beautiful. Plus sung by one of my favorite vocalists, Joni Mitchell.
The Canadian singer, who has a home on BC's Sunshine Coast, was honored with a tribute album by fellow musician Herbie Hancock. River: The Joni Letters won the 2008 Grammy for Album of the Year and Best Contemporary Jazz Album.
Go Herbie. Go Joni.
