I thought I was doing pretty well when I caught an 18.5-pound Chinook Salmon while at Sonora Resort in July of this year.
Then I heard about the Vancouver fisherman who reeled in a 72-pounder. Now that's a reely big fish! According to CKNW Radio, Brenden Leeson is not going to dine on the fish, but instead will mount it for posterity.
We enjoyed some of the fish I caught (also with guide Tommy Thompson) on the barbecue this weekend. It was delicious, and the rest we'll put in the smoker.
There is no shortage of fish tales coming out of British Columbia this summer; the other big news being a run of 34 million sockeye salmon on the Fraser River.

Tommy Thompson is the BEST fishing guide. He goes out to GET fish not coast around in the sunshine and gorgeous scenery which is a plus.
