Fans of Downtown Abbey may be able to be resuscitated with the arrival of the Masterpiece series VICTORIA. The eight-part series premieres on PBS January 15, and it will be screened at a special party at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel in Victoria, BC. How fitting!

The series highlights the early life of Queen Victoria from her coronation as Queen of England at age 18 through her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert. Jenna Coleman stars as the Young Queen Elizabeth.

The Oak Bay Beach Hotel is partnering with KCTS9 in an evening soiree on Saturday, January 15 at the David Foster Foundation Theatre at the hotel. The evening begins at 6PM with a cocktail reception, live music, passed hors d'oeuvres, door prizes that include a trip to Seattle and a pre-release airing of the two-hour series at 7PM. Feel free to dress to match the period and the occasion.

Special guest at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel screening is Nicole Davison, British Consul General to Vancouver. She took up her position in July 2016 and is the British government's representative in British Columbia, the Yukon and the North West Territories.

Tickets are $79 + tax, per person.* For more information or to make a reservation, call 250.598.4556 or visit the Oak Bay Beach Hotel's website.

*A portion of each ticket sold will go to KCTS9 and the David Foster Foundation, helping the families of children awaiting major organ transplants, as part of the hotel's ten-year, $2 million commitment.
